This week the weather has been unusually warm. Unfortunately up until today, it has also been misty/foggy too. When I go out to do a Parks On The Air activation I like to sit outside and operate so that I can get a little taste of nature, sun, breeze, etc.
When I left the house, this morning, it was already 55° and the sun was brilliant.
I got to the park and set up a 41’ End Fed Random Wire antenna with a 9:1 transformer. I paired it with the KX2 running 5 watts.
To get warmed up, I hunted a park operator in New York and then started calling CQ. I quickly made 13 contacts and was actually getting awfully warm sitting in the sun. A text interrupted the action and I took it as an opportunity to call it a day.
Total number of contacts – 14
Fun meter – 10
