I was able to get out for a quick activation of the 3 national historic trails that pass through our area here in the greater Kansas City metro area. The trails are Oregon, California and Santa Fe. In my city, Olathe, there is a park where all three pass because there was a campground used by travelers.
That is the closest (easiest) Parks on the Air park to my home, so I frequent it often.
When I started the activation, my first contact was with G4TDX and I was immediately excited thinking that I would get a lot of DX since my first QSO was DX. It didn’t work out that way, but the activation was a great success.
